I feel a bit silly making this episode since I feel like a complete novice! …but I just wanted to share my story behind growing my YouTube channel from almost no subscribers to nearly 10,000 in under 3 months.
I started out (and still am) a total newbie to YouTube but there were a few intentional things I did to help grow my channel and I wanted to share that with you too.
Let’s delve into my top tips for running a thriving YouTube channel.
Before starting your YouTube channel, it’s crucial to define your purpose. Ask yourself what value you want to provide to your audience. Strongly emphasize solving problems and addressing the needs of your target audience. By having a clear purpose and understanding who you’re creating content for, you can tailor your videos to resonate with and engage your viewers.
One of the keys to my success on YouTube has been my ability to educate my audience. If you possess specialized knowledge or skills, don’t hesitate to share them! Becoming a trusted resource in your niche is a surefire way to build credibility and attract a dedicated following. Use your videos as a platform to teach, inspire, and provide value to your viewers.
To stand out amidst the vast sea of YouTube content, it’s important to invest in quality and professionalism. I cannot stress enough the significance of developing a strong and attractive brand. Create visually appealing thumbnails, use high-quality video and audio equipment, and maintain a consistent visual identity. By presenting a polished and professional image, you can make a strong first impression and entice viewers to subscribe to your channel. I had people being quite harsh of my audio in my first few videos – even though they were essentially my first videos (where you usually wouldn’t pick on someone). I think because of my curated setup my channel looked far more experienced than I was! This worked for my benefit to have people subscribing and being excited for what seemed like an established channel.
Creating content should be enjoyable! Create videos and content YOU enjoy creating, this will help your channel last the long haul through the slow start, through to the raging success.
Inject your personality and passion into your videos, you can forge a genuine connection with your audience. Authenticity is key to building a loyal following.
Consistency is paramount for growing your YouTube channel. Develop a regular schedule for uploading videos and stick to it. This allows your audience to anticipate and look forward to your content. Additionally, consider batch-recording your videos. By dedicating specific time slots to record multiple videos in one go, you can save time and ensure a steady stream of content.
Building a community around your channel is essential for long-term success. Actively engage with your viewers by responding to comments, answering questions, and fostering discussions. Listen attentively to their feedback and incorporate it into your content strategy. By nurturing a connection with your audience, you can foster loyalty and turn viewers into devoted subscribers.
Through my personal journey on YouTube, I’ve gained valuable insights that I’m excited to share with aspiring content creators. By defining your purpose, understanding your audience, maintaining quality, having fun, and being consistent, you can create a thriving YouTube channel.
Remember, success takes time and dedication, but by applying these tips, you can reach a wider audience and achieve your goals on YouTube. Start your YouTube journey today and share your passion with the world!
