Should you use trends in your visual branding? Or are is that unwise?
Trends have their place! But we need to make suire to not just follow them blindly. A trend can help your brand to look modern and up with the times BUT a trend can also make you look the same as everyone else and date quickly.
Here are some of my tips to WISELY taking advantage of trends
Understanding the fundamental purpose behind your business and what it stands for lays the foundation for effective branding. Take the time to reflect on your values, mission, and unique selling points.
Your brand should evoke certain emotions and resonate with your target audience. Consider the vibes you want people to feel when they interact with your business. Is it elegance, playfulness, or professionalism?
Once you’re clear on these things – research current trends and find any that are close to what you want your business to represent. You can then choose fonts, colors, and design elements that both reflect your business AND look current and up-to-date)

Trends come and go, but constantly changing your brand to match each one can be overwhelming and confusing for your audience. If you already have a decent and consistent brand, strive for a balance between staying current and maintaining a consistent brand image that builds recognizability and trust.
Instead of overhauling your entire brand, incorporate small updates to remain up to date. Instead try subtly refreshing your fonts, as subtle changes can often go unnoticed while still infusing a new sense of modernity in your visuals.
Observe what other businesses are doing with their branding for some inspiration. Pay attention to their color palettes, fonts, and design choices.
Don’t limit your sources of inspiration to your own industry. Explore blogs, follow industry peers, and engage with professionals in unrelated fields who stay on top of trends. Observe patterns, identify emerging trends, and incorporate elements that resonate with your brand.
Becoming a trendsetting brand doesn’t mean copying others or sacrificing your uniqueness.
Remember, trends come and go, but your brand’s essence should remain constant. By incorporating small updates, like refreshing fonts and tweaking designs, you can stay on top of trends while maintaining brand consistency.
