Are you struggling to stand out on social media? I feel you! Every business owner wants to catch the attention of their audience and not get scrolled past like a boring post. So, let me share with you some strategies and tips on how to create standout graphics and market your business cleverly (aka. STAND OUT).
But before we start, please know this: Don’t rely solely on social media for marketing. Diversify your marketing strategies, like reaching out to people personally, doing email marketing, Facebook ads, or even print marketing. Ok, with that said, let’s dive into the juicy stuff.
Here are five techniques that can help you stand out on social media and get people to follow and buy from you.
A visual brand is crucial, and you gotta stick with it. Choose your colors, fonts, and graphic style. Minimal, bold, collage, it’s up to you! I’ve got a quiz that can help you find your style, so check it out for free at whitedeer.com.au/quiz.
Make sure EVERY social media post uses the same colors, fonts, and style. This helps your followers recognize you and makes you look super professional.
Instagram is known for it’s square posts – but did you know you take up more space? “Portrait” posts are rectangles a little taller than a square.
This way, your posts will stand out and grab people’s attention. Plus, it looks great on mobile devices, which is where most people access social media these days.
Use these dimensions in Canva: 1350px high and 1080px wide. Please remember though that Instagram will still crop your posts to a square in your grid to ensure that your content still looks good in a square (particularly large headings and photos).
The hierarchy of information in your graphic design is essential to catch the viewer’s attention and guide them through your content. Use different text sizes and styles to create a visual journey for your viewers, leading them to the most important information.
Using imagery that is relevant to your business or message can help your followers connect with your content. It will also make your graphics more interesting and visually appealing.
Avoid putting lots of text on your graphic that’s all the same size – this will overwhelm your viewer and they scroll on past. Instead use text of different sizing (or contrast) to take your viewers on a guided journey through what you want the to read.
That large text will also jump out on their scroll – so make sure that largest text is strategically there to be something that will draw someone in to keep reading.
Focus on content that draws in new followers and also keeps your current ones engaged. Keep track of what works and what doesn’t, and adjust your strategy accordingly.
So there you have it, folks! Five tips to make your social media graphics stand out. It’s time to get noticed and grow your business!
