First things first, your quiz needs to have a purpose. A well-crafted quiz should guide your audience toward your business offerings, not just exist for the fun of it (though it’s good to make it fun!) Think about your end goal. Do you want to grow your email list? Drive sales for a particular product or service? Setting clear objectives will give your quiz direction and purpose.
Quizzes are like the one-click wonders of the digital world. Keep it fun, engaging, and short. No one wants to feel like they’re taking a final exam. Add personality to your questions, and if it makes sense for your business, inject a touch of humour. The goal is to make the experience enjoyable and leave them wanting more.
What do your audience care about? What challenges are they facing? Your quiz should be designed to resonate with them and solve a problem they care about in your niche and area of expertise. Remember, people crave being understood, so cater to this craving. Craft questions that help them feel seen and known.
Personalisation is key, and personality quizzes hit the bullseye. Just like a Sorting Hat at Hogwarts, your quiz should help your audience discover something intriguing about themselves. Whether it’s their brand style, fitness personality, or even their ideal vacation, people enjoy learning and sharing these insights about themselves.
Your quiz is just the first step on a journey into eventually working with you. Once your audience completes the quiz, they should be led to an engaging results page. This page should offer valuable insights, resources, and even a call-to-action to the next step in your funnel. This is the ideal place to show them you know your stuff. This not only serves them and gives them valuable tools, but builds trust in you and your business and makes you the go-to problem solver for their problem.
After they’ve landed on the results page make sure you are also adding into this page information on the next steps to working with you. Whether it’s another freebie to continue to warm them up, or a paid offer, program or product.
Crafting the perfect quiz is a triumphant task, but it’s equally important to let the world know about it. Some strategies I used were teasing the quiz on social media as I was crafting it (behind-the-scenes style), Instagram stories and posts, emails, and Facebook ads all works well for me. Don’t be shy – shout it from the virtual rooftops and pique your audience’s curiosity.
Don’t just stop at the quiz completion. Offer an extra incentive – like a special resource – for those who share their email address. I personally didn’t always require someone to enter them email to access the results page, but I did say they should enter their email to get access to a bonus Pinterest board (which was relevant to their result). This adds an extra dash of excitement and value, tipping the scales in favour of capturing those valuable contacts.
In a world where customer engagement builds strong connection and trust with your audience, a quiz funnel can serve as an indispensable tool for cultivating a vibrant community and converting leads into loyal customers.
Let the fun, strategy, and creativity flow as you create a quiz that captivates and converts!
