Do you ever feel like your Instagram graphics are just that, graphics? Well, let me tell you, they’re much more than mere decorations; they are your sales team! So let’s dive into three essential design strategies that will transform your Instagram posts into a profit machine.
One crucial strategy is making your designs easy to consume. If viewers can’t read your content swiftly and effortlessly, your brilliant message will go to waste. Most of my tips revolve around carousel posts—those magical multi-image posts that double your chances of making a good first impression.
Carousels are fantastic for reach and engagement. The Instagram algorithm loves them so much that, if someone scrolls past your first image, it might reappear later, showcasing the second image in the carousel. Think of it as a double whammy of visibility.
To make your carousel irresistible, follow my Carousel Conversion framework:
In terms of CTAs, clarity is key. You want your followers to take that next step without any hiccups. And no, simply adding a URL to your post won’t cut it. Remember, folks are on their phones; they’re not going to remember the URL then type it into their browser. Instead, direct them to the link in your bio or a special link offered in your stories.
Or, make things EVEN EASIER by using a ManyChat Automation. Invite your followers to comment something like “transform,” on your post and voila! They get an automated message that takes them directly to your freebie or sign-up page. If ManyChat sounds like a space invader to you, doing it manually for smaller audiences works just as well.
Amplify your reach by making your posts shareable. Shareable content acts like free advertising—your followers become your biggest promoters! Create content that people are tempted to send to their friends, post on their stories, and bookmark for later.
An unexpected tip from me: not every post has to star you. While your followers might adore your smiling face (and I HIGHLY recommend posting images of you regularly to build trust and recognisability), graphics with larger text or intriguing visuals can be more shareable. Consider featuring your photograph on the last slide to maintain a personal touch while leading with the value you provide.
So now you have beautifully crafted, easy-to-consume, curiosity-driving, CTA-loaded, and shareable posts. What’s next? Engage with your audience! Answer their comments, slide into their DM’s, and thank them for sharing your content. The best part is that engaging with followers not only builds community but also pushes your content higher on the algorithm.
