Designing graphics for your online business can sometimes feel like navigating a maze blindfolded, especially if you are new to Canva. BUT as someone who’s spent years fiddling with styles, fonts, and colours on Canva (both for myself and for thousands of clients), I’m thrilled to share three powerful hacks that can save you a ton of time while boosting the quality of your designs.
Picture this: You’re excited to start working on a new design, but then, the dreaded routine begins: You start manually selecting fonts, sifting through colour palettes, and trying to remember your brand elements. Before you know it, a quick task has turned into a lengthy ordeal, and your patience is wearing thin.
Enter the Canva Brand Kit. When you have a Brand Kit set up in Canva, every time you start creating, your brand elements, all your colours, fonts, and logos are assembled in one place, accessible with just a click. Talk about saving time and hair-pulling!
However, remember, this is a Canva Pro feature, but don’t fret just yet. Check out the YouTube tutorial above where I’ll share a tip to having your brand colours and fonts accessible in any design without Brand Kit.
If you’ve ever considered hiring a private investigator to track down your misplaced files in Canva, you’re not alone. It’s frustrating, it’s messy, and it steals precious time you could spend on actual designing.
That’s where folders come in—a simple yet game-changing feature available in both Canva Pro and Free. With folders, you can categorise literally anything—designs, images, projects—making them easily retrievable whenever you need them.
By strategically organising your designs into folders, you reduce the time wasted hunting down files.
Some ideas to try:
Experience taught me that starting every design from scratch is a huge waste of time. In Canva, you have the blessing of duplication. Not only does this hack secure your consistency across designs, but it also trims down hours from your creative process.
Instead of building anew, simply duplicate a past design page to serve as your template. Not even just duplicating a full Canva design, but once you’ve got a design open just duplicate the PAGE/S you need Just hover over your desired past design, click those trusty three dots, and hit ‘duplicate’. You can now modify your text to suit your new design, update any colours, or elements as needed, ensuring you retain the essence of your brand and voila! A new design with minimal effort.
And there you have it—three Canva hacks that will transform your design struggle into a symphony of efficiency and creativity. Whether you employ Brand Kit, folders, or the duplication hack, know that you’ve taken steps towards saving time and achieving high-quality graphics.
