Let’s face it, creativity is the secret ingredient that spices up our existence and makes it oh-so-delicious. I know it sounds a tad dramatic, but hear me out: creativity helps to keep life interesting and keeps us sane. It’s like the mental vitamins we all need to stay sharp and sparkly. So, let’s dive into this creative pool and discover how it can light up our lives!
Recently, I was all ears when Ellie Griffin, from Island Village, joined me as a guest on the “Seriously in Business” podcast. Ellie shared about the three musketeers of creativity: curiosity, connection, and creativity itself. Curiosity and connection are like those things we naturally crave, while creativity comes in a million flavors like writing, dancing, or even cooking up a storm. Ellie made it clear that creativity is a treasure chest just waiting to be opened, and we’re here to reveal the keys!
Now, creativity isn’t just for the artsy crowd. We can all cultivate creativity in our everyday lives. Here are some ideas:
1. Have a dance and bust out some moves on the dance floor or during a workout. Let that energy loose and watch the creative sparks fly!
2. Taking breaks and shutting off technology (I’m looking at you Instagram) also play a crucial role in unlocking our inner creativity. It allows your mind time to just be and it’s often when we come up with our most inspired ideas (take your amazing shower ideas as proof!). Banish distractions to give your imagination the freedom it deserves!
3. Creativity isn’t limited to grand gestures or works of art. It’s all about those small, wacky moments that make life beautiful. Try out new recipes, rearrange furniture or take the scenic route to work and embrace the unexpected.
Creativity opens up a world of possibilities and reveals solutions to problems we thought were stuck like gum on our shoes.
Plus, as business owners, whether in your branding or in your business strategy, allowing yourself the space to think creatively will help you meet your clients/customers needs in a way no one else has thought of.
It also does a pretty great job at helping you create a brand that is totally UNIQUE to you. If you’d like help creating your own incredible brand (and maybe the classic “arty” creativity doesn’t come as naturally to you), I’d LOVE to serve you inside The Co+Creation Club. Doors are opening soon.
But in the meantime, grab your $27 ticket to a live virtual workshop with me. More deets here. https://www.diydesignmybiz.com/elevate?utm_source=sib-podcast&utm_medium=podcast&utm_term=ellie-griffin118&utm_content=&utm_campaign=cocreation-club
